29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects, such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation, and for evidence of possible internal damage, such as pinched or crushed outer jacket:    a) Production Area in 661- The employer failed to ensure that flexible cord sets, such as the extension cord that was used to supply power to the Densitometer, were visually inspected before use for external defects such as a missing grounding pin.     b) Production Area in 651- The employer failed to ensure that portable plug and cord connected equipment, such as the 330 Volt Toyota Electric Pallet Jack, Serial #7HB1023-313248, were visually inspected before use for external defects such as damage to the outer jacket or insulation on the charging cord.     No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
