29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iii): Splices. Flexible cords shall be used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard service flexible cords No. 12 or larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced:    a) On or about 03/04/13, at 575A Bromon Drive, Aguadilla, PR, outside the main office area, a flexible cord with splices was used to provide energy to a tile saw.    b) On or about 03/04/13, at 575A Bromon Drive, Aguadilla, PR, outside the main office area, the flexible cord of a Dewalt tile saw used to cut tiles was spliced in several locations of the cord.    PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
