29 CFR 1910.23(d)(1)(iii): Every flight of stairs having four (4) or more risers in which the stairway was less than 44 inches wide and both sides were open was not equipped with one standard stair railing on each side:  On or about 02/19/2014, at the loading dock, the employer did not ensure that the stairway leading to the overhead freezers was equipped with a standard stair railing on each side.    Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement include, but are not limited to, installing a standard stair railing, which includes a smooth-surfaced top rail, an intermediate rail or protection between the top rail and stair treads which is equivalent to an intermediate rail, posts, and the strength to withstand at least 200 lbs. top rail pressure.
