29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:    a.) First Source (aka Holiday Candy), on or about 3/31/14, prior to and on-going - Temporary employees can work around or with chemicals, for multiple hours daily while removing ink; driving forklifts; and, performing sanitation and cleaning.  These chemicals inlcude, but are not necessarily lmited to: methyl ethyl ketone, propane and, 2-butoxyethanol, sodium carbonate, and citric acid (in various cleaning products).  The 'providing employer' did not provide generic, effective information and training on Hazard Communication, prior to sending employees to work sites where chemicals are in use.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED    Durham Staffing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 625658, citation number 1 item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/15/12, with respect to a workplace located at 7703 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY.
