OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards associated with improper automobile lift operations:    (a) On or about April 10, 2014, and at times prior, Medved Ford, Inc. employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while working around automotive lifts as follows:    #1 - Lifts were not inspected annually by a qualified lift inspector.   #2 - Lifts were not inspected daily during use to ensure that they were properly maintained and functional.  #3 - Lift #9 showed lack of lubrication and significant rust on the hydraulic cylinders.  #4 - Lift #14 had hydraulic fluid leaks from one of the vertical hoses. Employees were exposed to contact with electrical hazards in that:      1- A Car Quest, model 7300 battery charger, located between lifts 7 and 8, had a cord plug with the ground prong missing.  2- A Midtronics, model GR-1-190 battery charger, located by lift #18, had a cord plug with the ground prong missing. Cord had exposed inner wires due to damage to outer insulation.  2-  Power Reel cord was observed by lift #19. Cord showed insulation damage where the cord meets the plug.
