OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards associated with improper automobile lift operations: (a) On or about April 10, 2014, and at times prior, Medved Ford, Inc. employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while working around automotive lifts as follows: #1 - Lifts were not inspected annually by a qualified lift inspector. #2 - Lifts were not inspected daily during use to ensure that they were properly maintained and functional. #3 - Lift #9 showed lack of lubrication and significant rust on the hydraulic cylinders. #4 - Lift #14 had hydraulic fluid leaks from one of the vertical hoses. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
