29 CFR 1926.652(g)(2): Excavations of earth material to a level no greater than 2 feet (.61m) below the bottom of a shield was permitted:   a.) Construction Site/Rimersburg, PA/Pipeline Installation Project - On or about May 12, 2014, personnel conducting pipe line installation work in a trench that was approximately 14-feet deep. The shield system utilized to protect personnel was not positioned at the bottom of the trench.  The trench shield was positioned approximately 4 to 5-feet above the bottom of the trench.
