OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing and struck by hazard:  a) Commercial St., Worcester, MA: On or about December 9, 2014, an employee was observed riding in the bucket of a moving Bobcat skid steer to spread salt at the entrance to the commercial garage. Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazard is to follow the safety precautions that are provided by the vehicle manufacturer which state , "Do not allow anyone to ride on the loader..." or to follow the Company's Stand Operating Procedures and Safety Guidelines (March 2014) which state, "No riders on bucket, or inside cab other than the operator".    Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
