29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:   (a) On April 8, 2015 the inspection revealed that employees were potentially exposed to serious injury because the Forest Supervisor did not ensure that the tongue guard on the Delta 6" bench grinder was adjusted correctly. The bench grinder was located in the fire cache area of the Burns Interagency Communication Center.  The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 978154, notice number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/15/2014, with respect to a workplace located at the Bend Pine Administration Site.  The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312393465, notice number 2, item number 6 and was affirmed as a final order on 8/18/2011, with respect to a workplace located at the Lookout Mountain Ranger District.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.:   (a) On April 8, 2015 the inspection revealed that employees were potentially exposed to serious injury because the Forest Supervisor did not ensure that the compressed air nozzle available on site was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. The air nozzle was located if the fire cache area of the Burns Interagency Communications Center.  The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 978154, notice number 2, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/15/2014, with respect to a workplace located at the Bend Pine Administration Site.   The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 903923, notice number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/1/2013, with respect to a workplace located at the Tiller Ranger District in Roseburg, Oregon.
