29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields. (a) Yahama, Inc. is failing to protect employees adjacent to the welding area from the welding rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields. This was most recently documented in the following instances: (1) On or about September 24, 2015 Yamaha, Inc. had workers welding on boats while other workers were in the immediate area and not protected from exposure to the welding rays. Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
