29 CFR 1910.29(a)(2)(i): Work platforms shall be capable of carrying the design load under varying circumstances depending upon the conditions of use. Therefore, all parts and appurtenances necessary for their safe and efficient utilization must be integral parts of the design.    The employer provided work platforms with broken and cracked welds in numerous locations and affected their designed load carrying capacity under varying circumstances depending upon the conditions of use. The damaged platform was not stable and was missing all of its casters. This unstable condition posed a fall hazard to employees who utilized the work platforms.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.138(a): General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions and punctures.     The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion and punctures.        Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
