29 CFR 1910.29(a)(2)(i): Work platforms shall be capable of carrying the design load under varying circumstances depending upon the conditions of use. Therefore, all parts and appurtenances necessary for their safe and efficient utilization must be integral parts of the design.    The employer provided work platforms with broken and cracked welds in numerous locations and affected their designed load carrying capacity under varying circumstances depending upon the conditions of use. The damaged platform was not stable and was missing all of its casters. This unstable condition posed a fall hazard to employees who utilized the work platforms.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
