29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(F): Temporary lights were suspended by their electric cords when such lights and cords were not designed for suspension: (a) Main Stairwell: Temporary lights were wired to the permanent building wiring and hanging from the electric wires. These lights are not designed by the manufacturer to be suspended in this manner nor are the temporary light fixtures designed to be used individually. Using the temporary lighting in this manner exposes employees to electrical shock, electrical burns, and exposure to smoke and fire.
