29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit route(s) were not kept free and unobstructed:  a) 51 Spaatz Dr., Building 291 Commissary, Langley AFB, Hampton, VA 23665: On or about August 31, 2016, a warehouse access to an exit door was obstructed by materials such as, but not limited to, dollies, boxes, pallets, and a grocery cart, exposing employees to crushing and other hazards in the event of an evacuation.  Quick Fix: The employer abated the hazard at the time of inspection.

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):  a) 51 Spaatz Dr., Building 291 Commissary, Langley AFB, Hampton, VA 23665: On or about August 31, 2016, the employer did not assess the workplace where employees used RAM cleaner concentrate which contained 2-methoxyethanol, 2-butoxyethanol and cyclohexene, and where employees were not required to wear appropriate person protective equipment, such as chemical resistant gloves and goggles, as required by the manufacturer and stated on the safety data sheet in Section 8, exposing employees to potential mild skin and eye irritation.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
