OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards: In the scrap area, employees operating the DeWalt reciprocating saw to cut up rejected coolers were exposed to laceration and amputation hazards in that the employer did not ensure that employees were operating the reciprocating saw in a safe manner to prevent employees from contacting the blade. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOUD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: 1. Ensure that the employees working in the scrap area are operating reciprocating saws in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions to use clamps or another practical way to secure and support the work piece to a stable platform and to hold saw firmly with both hands for all cutting operations.

Employees work near moving platforms in the molding area during the production process. Employees were exposed to being struck by or caught by moving platforms. 2. Employees working in the scrap area were operating the band saw with the blade slide guard not adjusted to the width of the product that was being cut. Employees were exposed to amputation hazards.
