Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.    a) On or about 10/17/16, on the flat roof dormers near the pool area under construction at Canterbury Woods , 705 Renaissanse Dr., Williamsville, NY:  One employee engaged in installing roofing shingles on the steep part of the roof just above the flat roof dormers was exposed to a fall of up to approx.  30 ft . while walking on dormers,  setting down an aluminum plank spanning the gap between dormers, and walking back and forth over the unguarded and unsecured plank while sometimes carrying debris and other materials. The employee was wearing a full body harness, but was not tethered to an anchor point while walking on/between the dormers.  No other fall protection system was utilized.      NO ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
