29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch.  (a) M/V Fairweather - upper level engine room: On or about February 28th, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the CSHO observed a 8" Dayton Bench Grinder (model # 2LKR9) with a upper adjustable tongue guard measuring 1/2" to the top of the wheel.  (b)M/V Fairweather - boat shop: On or about February 28th, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the CSHO observed a Baldor Pedastal Grinder missing the upper adjustable tongue guard.  The measurement to the top of the wheel was appreximately 1".
