29 CFR 1915.153(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that employees used appropriate eye or face protection where there were exposures to eye or face hazards caused by flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acid, caustic liquids, gases, vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. Sunset Hornblower, Bay Ship & Yacht, Alameda: An employee acting as the fire watch was observed wearing inadequate eye protection during a MIG torching operation thereby exposing him the hazard of arc flash burns.
