Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.    Bay 2 of the facility at 868 Dalton Avenue Pittsfield, MA: On and before February 13, 2018, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards caused by the ejection of tires from the Coats Rim Clamp tire changing machine while setting the bead and inflating tires.

Empty 5 gallon water bottles and Castrol oil boxes were on the floor and in a passageway  b.  Large piles of dirt had been swept into central locations but not picked up and disposed of properly  c.  Hoses for temporary water pump ran across aisles  d.  Equipment was stored on top of electrical panels and raceways  e.  Tires were stored in a method that blocked the storeroom aisles
