OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of a scissor lift tipping over when the cord is draped over the side of the lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to connect the extension cord to the power outlet at the base of the scissor lift and use the outlet on the platform to power a electrical tools and equipment that would be utilized.
