29 CFR 1915.14(a)(1)(i): Hot work was performed within, on, or immediately adjacent to spaces that contain or have contained combustible or flammable liquids or gases before those spaces were tested and certified by a Marine Chemist or a U.S. Coast Guard authorized person as "Safe for Hot Work"�:    a.  On or about April 19, 2018, on the tug Santaquinn's #4 ballast tank, an employee was grinding the man hole plate retaining ring that had not been permitted for hot work by a marine chemist or US Coast Guard authorized person, exposing employees to a burn hazard.
