29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.     On or about June 14, 2018, the employer failed to provide machine guarding to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by production equipment, including the Webtron 1618 #14. The press did not have guarding to prevent employees from gaining access to the powered rollers (rotating parts) during operation. This exposed employees to a caught-in hazard.     Abatement is not required for this item.      Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number1071117, citation number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on November 19, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 1285 Hamilton PKWY, Itasca, IL. 60143.
