29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. a. On or about July 24, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, an employee performing clean-up and material delivery operations at a residential construction site was not protected from falling / flying tools/debris/materials. The employer failed to ensure employees wore head protection where required. Employees were thereby exposed to head injuries from stuck-by hazards. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about July 24, 2018, at the above referenced inspection site, employees performing roofing operations on a residential roof were not protected from falls. The employer failed to ensure employees utilized an effective means of fall protection. Employees were thereby exposed to falls of approximately 9 feet. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
