29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    On August 27th 2018, at a job site located at 308 NE 102nd St. Lot #6, Kansas City, MO 64155, an employee was exposed to an approximate 11 foot five inch fall hazard to the ground below in that the unprotected sides and edges of the elevated work area was not provided with guardrails or any other means of fall protection.
