29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift:  a) Side of Warehouse - An employee working on a gutter system from a Genie S-60 aerial work platform was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately twenty (20) feet.  The employee attached the lanyard for his personal fall arrest system to the handrail of the basket and not one of the eight designated tie off points provided on the basket by the manufacturer, on or about August 23rd, 2018.  Note:  As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system.  The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated by 1926.502(e).  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
