29 CFR 1910.179(j)(1)(ii)(b): Complete inspections of the crane shall be performed at intervals of 1 to 12 months for detecting cracked or deformed members, worn or distorted parts, ie; pins bearing and shafts as well as excessive wear on brakes. On or about December 18, 2018 and after, the company did not perform a complete inspection of the overhead cranes in the facility. a. The Conco 15 ton 9449 overhead crane pendant was duct taped to hold it together and not in proper working order. b. The Conco 10 ton 9689 overhead crane would stop at certain spots along the track while moving due to conductors/contactors were not in proper working condition. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
