29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields:  (a) In the WAREHOUSE, employees move freely around other employees welding stainless steel. The barriers around the welding operations are not maintained without cracks, which can expose employees to the rays produced by welders. Welding employees move throughout the hexavalent chrome work area, and the absorptive curtains are not moved each time welding occurs in a new area. Employees are exposed to contact with the rays produced by welders, which can result in burns to the skin or eyes.

29 CFR 1910.1026(c): Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of chromium (VI) which exceeded 5 micrograms per cubic meter of air, as an 8-hour time-weighted average:  (a) In the WAREHOUSE area of Novum Structures, LLC. located at W131 N8757 Old Orchard Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051, in the stainless steel production area, a welder was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an 8-hour time weighted average of 9.88 micrograms per cubic meter, approximately 2.0 times the limit of 5.0 micrograms per cubic meter. The sample was collected on May 7, 2019, during a 465 minute sampling period and exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 15 minutes not sampled.
