Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a powered industrial truck without an Operator Restraint System. a) Pottstown Roller Mills, Worksite - on or about July 22, 2019, a Clark powered industrial truck was in use without having an installed operator restraint system. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure that all powered industrial trucks conform to the manufacturer requirements and ANSI / ITSDF B56.1-2005 Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks pertaining to operator restraint systems.
