The band saw was not equipped with a guard to cover the unused portion of the saw blade and nip points created by the moving saw blade and blade guide rolls.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): Employer had not developed or implemented a written hazard communication program included the requirements outlined in 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1)(i) and (e)(1)(ii): a) Micro Weld America, LLC., Production areas, on or about October 22nd, 2019 and times prior there to: Employees worked with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, various metals (copper-beryllium) and acetone during welding operations onsite. A written hazard communication program had not been developed and implemented. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The employer did not provide hazard communication training for all employees who worked with and around hazardous substances.
