Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. At 3201 N 11th St, St Louis, MO - on or about 12/06/2019, an employee was manually removing brick from a building approximately 40 feet above the concrete ground and was not utilizing a guard rail system, safety system, or personal fall arrest system, exposing the employee to an elevated fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.850(a): Prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations, an engineering survey was not made, by a competent person, of the structure to determine the condition of the framing, floors, and walls, and possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure. Any adjacent structure where employees may be exposed were not similarly checked. The employer did not have evidence in writing that such a survey has been performed. At 2301 N 11th St, St Louis, MO - on or about 12/06/2019, an employee was manually removing brick from a building. The employer did not provide evidence in writing that an engineering survey was made.
