On or about 28 February 2020, and at times prior thereto, three worker were performing framing activities without the use of hard hats, exposing the workers to the hazard of being struck by falling tools, materials or debris.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  On or about 28 February 2020, a framer was using a pneumatic nail gun to apply rafters to the roof of a residence under construction without the use of safety glasses, exposing the worker to the hazard of being struck by flying debris or projectiles.

On or about 28 February 2020, three workers were performing framing activities on a residence under construction without the use of fall protection, exposing them to a fall hazard of approximately 17 feet from the ground.

These workers were not trained in recognizing fall hazards, thus, exposing them to a fall hazard of approximately 17 feet from the ground.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4):  Ladder was not used for the purpose for which it was designed.  On or about 28 February 2020, and at times prior thereto, framers used a fiberglass step ladder as means of access to the wood framing upper plate of a new residential construction instead of an extension ladder. The top step and step below top were stand on by employees to climb to the elevated surface were framing work was performed. The ladder did not extent three feet past the landing surface, thus exposing the employees to the hazards of slips, trips and falls due to the insufficient length.
