29 CFR 1918.62(b)(3)(ii): Wire rope or wire rope slings having kinking, crushing, bird caging, or other damage resulting in distortion of the wire rope structure were used.    (a) C/P Seattle Enterprise - On or about March 11, 2020 and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to failure of the wire rope when operating the Starboard Aft Pedestal Mounted Knuckle Crane Rapp M# HP 50-40k Serial # 12486 with a kink/bird cage in the wire rope on the eye of the hook.
