29 CFR 1910.217(c)(2)(v): The hinged or movable section(s) of interlocked press barrier guard(s) on mechanical power press(es) did not prevent opening of the interlocked section and reaching into the point of operation prior to die closure or prior to the cessation of slide motion: WORKSHOP: The barrier guard on the No. 38 KUX part revolution mechanical power press did not prevent opening the guard allowing the operator to reach into the point of operation during the operating cycles. On or about May 7, 2020, the operator performing re-work of the PV-M inner diameter part with the guard removed from the above power press was able to reach into the point of operation and sustained a right middle finger amputation.
