29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(iii): The employer did not identify and evaluate the respiratory hazard(s) in the workplace; including a reasonable estimate of employee exposures to respiratory hazards and identification of the contaminant's chemical state and physical form:  a)     USS Vicksburg: On about 04/28/2020, employees' mechanically removed paint that contained 5.60% Zinc, the employer did not evaluate and reasonable estimate the employees' respiratory hazard therefore employees' were possibly exposed to greater than 5 mg/m3 of respirable dust.   Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1915.51(b)(1)(iii): Local exhaust ventilation was not of sufficient capacity or so arranged as to remove fumes and smoke at the source and keep the concentration in the breathing zone within safe limits:  a)     USS Vicksburg: On about 05/01/2020, employees in tank 6-272-1-F, were not provided with local exhaust ventilation sufficient enough to control the accumulation of toxic particulates generated by the removal of metal and paint as a result employees were exposed to excessive smoke.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
