29 CFR 1910.28(b)(11)(ii): The employer must ensure: Each flight of stairs having at least 3 treads and at least 4 risers is equipped with stair rail systems and handrails as follows: (see TABLE D-2) Stair width less than 44 inches with two open sides requires one stair rail system on each open side.    a) On or about September 1, 2020, employees working at the small wash bay were required to access a platform that did not have handrails on the two open sides where there were 5 risers.   b) On or about September 1, 2020, employees working at the big wash bay were required to access a platform that did not have handrails on one of the two open sides where there were 5 risers.
