29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1):Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section. a. Located at 156 W. Union Street in Athens, Ohio: On or about January 12, 2022, two employees were performing steam pipe installation work from the bottom of an unprotected trench that exceeded five feet in depth, thereby exposing the employees to crushed-by hazards.
