On May 6, 2022, on Burnt Store Road, in Punta Gorda, Florida, employees, working in an unsupported trench that was 17 to 20 feet long and approximately 7 feet deep with vertical walls, in Class C soil, were not adequately trained in the recognition of hazards associated with trenching and excavations.
