29 CFR 1910.252(a)(2)(xv): Cutting or welding was permitted in areas that were not made fire safe by removing combustibles or protecting combustibles from ignition sources: a) Asphalt Silo - On or about June 28, 2022, the employer did not ensure the asphalt silo was fire safe prior allowing a contractor to tack weld a box on the top. The silo contained residual combustible material and was not properly vented prior to welding activity.
