29 CFR  1915.53(d)(1): In an enclosed space, all surfaces covered with toxic preservatives were not stripped of all toxic coatings for a distance of at least 4 inches from the area of heat application:  a) Compartment 01-73-1-L on the USS Iwo Jima at GD NASSCO shipyard: On 8/16/22 and times prior thereto, employees performed welding operations in an enclosed space without removing at least 4 inches of green epoxy primer, resulting in visible scorched marks and the release of toxic compounds from the primer.
