29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1):The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  On or about September 15, 2022 at the jobsite located at 13756 Count Line Rd., Newark, IL 60541.  Employees were engaged in new residential framing activities using pneumatic nail guns without the use of eye protection.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.  On or about  September 15, 2022 at jobsite located at 13756 County Line Rd., Newark, IL 60541. Employees were exposed to falls in excess of 10 feet while engaged in residential framing activities.  Fall protection was not being utilized while performing framing activities on the roof a new construction residential dwelling.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR  1926.503(a)(1):The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.  On or about September 15, 2022 at a jobsite located at 13756 County Line Rd., Newark, IL 6541.  Employees working at heights were not trained to recognize and minimize the hazards associated with a fall, exposing the employees to falls in excess of 10 feet.  The exposed employees were engaged in new residential framing construction on the roof installing decking at a height in excess of 10 feet.  Employees were not trained to recognize the fall hazard and when the use of PFAS are required.
