OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees while operating compound miter saws.  Location: Jobsite  The employer did not ensure that employees kept their hands out of the path of the saw blade, while the saw blade was coasting, and while retrieving the material that had been cut per the Makita Compound Miter Saw manufacturer's instruction manual.  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to ensure employees follow the manufacturer's instruction manual to not place their hands in the path of the saw blade and to avoid contact with a coasting blade while using the Makita Compound Miter Saw.
