29 CFR  1960.30(a):The agency shall ensure the prompt abatement of unsafe and unhealthful conditions. Where a Notice of an Unsafe or Unhealthful Working Condition has been issued, abatement shall be within the time set forth in the notice, or in accordance with the established abatement plan.  Camp Liberty, Bldg. 1-3346 Throckmorton Library:  On or about 04/17/2023, the employer did not ensure prompt corrective action where visible mold and fungal growth had accumulated across the middle section of the 30-foot-high ceiling.  Visible water intrusion has resulted in carpet, baseboard, and ceiling tile deterioration.  Allowing these hazards to persist unabated exposed employees to respiratory concerns, throat irritations, coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, tightness of chest, headaches, and flared allergies.
