29 CFR  1910.22(c): 29 CFR 1910.22(c): The employer did not ensure that each employee used a safe means of access and egress to and from walking-working surfaces:   a) Stairs leading to the basement of 280 E 162 St:  Stair tread and riser were damaged and could not support five times the normal live anticipated load.  Employees would have to use these stairs when discarding building's garbage to the curb for pickup by NYC Sanitation Department.  Condition not on or about 08/03/2023.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000 AS PER CFR 1903.19.
