On or about September 11, 2023, Sambor Stone, Ltd., employees were not adequately protected from being struck and crushed by bundles of quartz slabs while working inside a shipping container.  Employees worked inside an enclosed container to perform unloading tasks, including removing wooden supports/bracing that secured the bundles in place and applying straps around each individual bundle to attach to a forklift for removal from the container.  During these activities, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards from the individual bundles being prepared for removal from the container, including on 12 slab bundle that had an estimated weight of more than 6100 pounds.
