29 CFR  1926.1203(e)(2)(iii):  Before an employee enters the space, the internal atmosphere must be tested with a calibrated, direct-reading instrument, for oxygen content, for flammable gases and vapors, and for potential toxic air contaminants, in that order:  a) On or about September 26, 2023, at the Highway 5 and Salem Road job site, the Bascom-Turner natural gas detector, last calibrated on July  9, 2023, with a calibration due date of August 10, 2023, was still in use.
