29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions. a) At or near 411 Clifton Ave., Norhtvale NJ - Trench: Employee was exposed to struck by and or caught in hazards while engaged in plumbing/cleaning activities inside an unprrotected trench approximately six foot deep that was not inspected by a competent person, on or about 2/21/24. One employee got caught by dirt that fell into the trench. The employee was removed and transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released the same day.

One employee got caught by dirt that fell into the trench. The employee was removed and transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released the same day.
