29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: On or about March 13, 2024, the employer did not develop and implement the elements of a written hazard communication program for employees exposed to hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to acetone, butanone, solvent naphtha, and oil which are included in wood filler, acetone, and air tool lubricant. Employees were exposed to inhalation and contact hazards that could result in health effects such as, but not limited to skin irritation, eye irritation, drowsiness, and dizziness.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical. On or about March 20, 2024, the employer did not ensure that each container storing hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to acetone were labeled with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals in that a clear plastic squirt bottle storing acetone was wrapped in duct tape and had not information on the container or tape to identify the bottles contents.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: On or about March 13, 2023, the employer had not provided information and training on hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to butanone, solvent naphtha, and oil which are included in wood filler, acetone, and air tool lubricant which employees are exposed to in the manufacturing of wood and brass products. Training should cover the written hazard communication program, health hazards associated with the chemicals, methods to detect the release of hazardous chemicals, measures employees can take to protect themselves from exposure to the chemicals, and safety data sheets.
