29 CFR 1910.1026(c): Employees were exposed to an airborne concentration of chromium (VI) which exceeded 5 micrograms per cubic meter of air, as an 8-hour time-weighted average: a.) At 8 Telfair Road Savannah, GA 31415 in the paint spray area: On or about April 2, 2024, the employer exposed employees to hexavalent chromium hazards, in that an employee was priming aerospace parts and was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an 8-hour TWA of 0.00662894 mg/m3. This level exceeded the permissible exposure level (PEL) of 0.005 mg/m3 by 1.3 times. The exposure was derived from two samples collected for a cumulative 302 minute period. Exposure calculations included a zero increment for the time not sampled.

At 8 Telfair Road Savannah, GA 31415 in the paint spray booth 1,2 and the sanding booth: On or about April 2, 2024, the employer exposed employees to hexavalent chromium hazards, in that an employee was priming aerospace parts and was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an 8-hour TWA of 0.00662894 mg/m3. This level exceeded the permissible exposure level (PEL) of 0.005 mg/m3 by 1.3 times. The exposure was derived from two samples collected for a cumulative 302 minute period. At 8 Telfair Road, Savannah, GA 31415 in the breakroom: On or about April 2, 2024, and at times prior to, the employer exposed employees to hexavalent chromium hazards in that the employer did not keep surfaces free from accumulation of hexavalent chromium in that hexavalent chromium was detected at levels of 0.357 ug on the breakroom doorknob where employees were not mandated to wear PPE and utilized frequently for breaks. b.) At 8 Telfair Road, Savannah, GA 31415 in the process line preparation area: On or about April 2, 2024, and at times prior to, the employer did not keep surfaces free from accumulation of hexavalent chromium in that hexavalent chromium was detected at levels of 0.422 ug and 0.325 ug on the handrail and table, respectively, exposing employees to hexavalent chromium hazards.
