29 CFR  1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level:   a- Building 53, Manalapan NJ:   Workers erecting roof trusses, and performing other related activites, while in the roof trusses and at unprotected edges of a residential structure's top floor were not protected from falling while wearing full body harnesses whose connected lanyards were improperly connected to anchors and these anchors  did not meet the requirements of the standard. As such, these workers were exposed to fall hazards ranging from 8 feet to in excess of 20 feet. Condition observed on or about 04/11/24.  b - Building 53, Manalapan NJ:   Workers erecting roof trusses, and performing other related activites, while in the roof trusses and at unprotected edges of a residential structure's top floor were not protected from falling while wearing full body harnesses whose connected lanyard's length would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, these workers were exposed to fall hazards ranging from 8 feet to in excess of 20 feet. Condition observed on or about 04/11/24.  c - Building 53, Manalapan NJ:   Workers erecting roof trusses, and performing other related activites, while in the roof trusses and at unprotected edges of a residential structure's top floor  were not protected from falling while wearing full body harnesses whose connected lanyards were not protected from damage as they  ran across and through the wooden members of the trusses and other framing components.  As such, these workers were exposed to fall hazards ranging from 8 feet to in excess of 20 feet. Condition observed on or about 04/11/24.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
