29 CFR  1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level:   a - Building 65, Home Site 652, Manalapan NJ:   A worker assisting with the installation of DensGlass sheathing, while working and walking on the top plates of a residential structure's exterior wall frame, was not protected from falling while wearing a full body harness whose connected, extended, lanyard's length and improperly installed retractable lanyard housing unit would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, this worker was exposed to fall hazards up to and in excess of 10 feet 7 inches. Condition observed on or about 05/29/24.  b - Building 65, Home Site 652, Manalapan NJ:   A worker assisting with the installation of DensGlass sheathing, and performing other related activities,  while at unprotected edges of a residential structure's second floor was not protected from falling while wearing a full body harness whose connected, extended,  lanyard's length and improperly installed retractable lanyard housing unit would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, this worker was exposed to fall hazards up to and in excess of 12 feet. Condition observed on or about 05/29/24.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
