29 CFR  1926.451(f)(14): Makeshift devices, such as but not limited to boxes and barrels, were used on top of scaffold platforms to increase the working level height of employees:   a) Worksite 40 Voice Road, Carle Place, NY, 11514 -  Employee onsite was reinforcing the roof by installing and welding additional steel girders on the interior of the building. The employee was accessing the work area by using a JLG Commander Scissor lift approximately 15-feet above the concrete floor below and was standing on top of the welding box to gain additional height; on or about October 23, 2024.   Note: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by CFR 1903.19.
