29 CFR  1910.147(c)(6)(i)(C): Where lockout was used for energy control, the periodic inspection did not include a review, between the inspector and each authorized employee, of that employee's responsibilities under the energy control procedure being inspected:  a.)  Hu-Friedy Group dba Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, LLC -   On or about 11/8/24, and at times prior thereto, the annual inspection of the energy control procedures was not reviewed between the inspector and each authorized employee.   Employees perform servicing and maintenance on equipment including, but not limited to, the pouch line machinery, the extruder, and the press.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

Hu-Friedy Group dba Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, LLC -   On or about 11/8/24, and at times prior thereto, the annual inspection of the energy control procedures was not documented with the required information.  Missing information included, but was not limited to,  the employees included in the inspection and the person performing the inspection.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    a.)  Hu-Friedy Group dba Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, LLC, Pouch Line -   On or about 11/8/24, and at times prior thereto, the cutter on the pouch line machine was not adequately guarded to prevent employees from being able to access the point of operation.  The guard was not adequate in that employees could reach around or under it.  b.)  Hu-Friedy Group dba Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, LLC, Pouch Line - On or about 11/8/24, and at times prior thereto, the  punch on the pouch line machine was not guarded.  The area did not have guarding to prevent employees from reaching into the pinch point.  The guard was not adequate in that employees could reach around or under it.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
